Following the announcement of its potential existence in March, Amazon Studios has this week officially given the order for a straight-to-series TV series adaptation of Joe Wright’s 2011 thriller feature “Hanna”.
Saoirse Ronan starred in the original as a girl raised in the wilderness of northern Finland by her father (Eric Bana), an ex-CIA operative, who trains her as an assassin. Cate Blanchett played a senior CIA agent who tries to track down and eliminate the girl and her father.
The new version is penned by “The Night Manager” scribe David Farr who also co-wrote the original film. Farr will also executive produce alongside Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements.
