Amazon Studios has scored the rights to the script pitch “Coyote Blue” penned and produced by “John Wick” and “Nobody” scribe Derek Kolstad.
Emmy winner Sterling K. Brown is attached to star while Hanelle M. Culpepper (“Star Trek: Picard,” “Kung Fu”) will make her feature directorial debut on the film.
The story revolves around an everyman (Brown) hunted by a ruthless criminal syndicate for his mysterious cargo, and now must navigate the treacherous terrain of Route 66 while unleashing his lethal set of skills in a fight for survival.
Brown, Dmitri M. Johnson and Danielle Reardon will produce.
