Amazon Prime has cancelled its sci-fi series “Paper Girls” after one season.
The decision comes a little over a month after all eight episodes of the series, based on Brian K. Vaughan and Cliff Chiang’s graphic novel, hit the streamer on July 29th.
The show, which follows four paper delivery girls in 1988 who become unwittingly caught up in a conflict between warring factions of time-travellers, drew strong critical and audience reviews but failed to make much impact due to being overshadowed by much more heavily promoted series launches like “The Terminal List” and “The Rings of Power”.
The project was produced by Amazon Studios and Legendary Television, in association with Plan B. Legendary will now reportedly shop the series around.
