Five years since “The Revenant” came out, Oscar winner Alejandro Inarritu is finally returning to the big screen and has begun work on his next feature.
The Film Stage reports that the director was recently seen scouting locations and doing camera tests in Mexico City, including Chapultepec Castle, with cinematographer Bradford Young (“Solo: A Star Wars Story”).
Joining them were multiple cast members dressed in 1990s outfits alongside cardboard cutouts of politicians Carlos Salinas de Gortari and Jose Lopez Portillo.
Discussing Film adds that production designer Patrice Vermette, shooting was originally slated to begin in April though with the global pandemic that’s unlikely now.
