Alan Arkin Departs “Kominsky Method”

Alan Arkin has abruptly left Netflix’s Golden Globe-winning comedy “The Kominsky Method” ahead of its upcoming third and final season.

The series revolves around ageing actor-turned-acting coach Sandy Kominsky (Michael Douglas) and his trusted agent and friend Norman Newlander (Arkin), so the actor’s departure will have a major impact.

Arkin reportedly had previously indicated he would not continue beyond a second season and is sticking by that decision, even as the series’ second season finale in October last year gave no indication of it. Arkin’s departure will reportedly be addressed in the show.

The Golden Globe-winning Chuck Lorre-created series was picked up for a third season in July.
