Aidan Turner (“Poldark,” “Being Human”) will play the Apostle Andrew in the cast of celebrated filmmaker Terrence Malick’s currently filming Jesus Christ movie “The Last Planet”.
“Son of Saul” star Geza Rohrig will play Jesus opposite Matthias Schoenaerts as Apostle Peter, and Mark Rylance as four different incarnations of Satan in the story which follows Christ’s life through a series of parables.
Joseph Fiennes, Ben Kingsley, Douglas Booth, Tawfeek Barhom, Martin McCann, Ori Pfeffer, Shadi Mar’i, Makram Khoury, Numan Acar, Emilio De Marchi, Bjorn Thors, Alfonso Postiglione and Lorenzo Gioielli also star in the project which has been filming in Italy.
Jorg Widmer, who served as cinematographer on Malick’s latest film “A Hidden Life,” returns for this. Fox Searchlight will release “A Hidden Life” on December 13th. The Jesus film doesn’t have a date as yet.
