“Ahsoka” Star On Those Anakin Rumors

Lucasfilm

Rosario Dawson has finally addressed talk about Hayden Christensen’s Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader making an appearance of some kind in “Star Wars: Ahsoka”.

Dawson stars as the titular character in “Ahsoka,” reprising her role from “The Mandalorian” and “The Book of Boba Fett” in the series set years after the events of “Return of the Jedi”.

Her character started out in the animated series “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” and “Star Wars: Rebels” as the Jedi Padawan of Anakin Skywalker and so he’s a crucial figure in her life.

There have long been rumors Christensen could appear in a flashback of some kind in the series. The actor recently returned to the role for the “Obi-Wan Kenobi” mini-series. However, a good portion of those were subsequently shot down.

Speaking with Total Film magazine, Dawson was asked the question straight up, and delivered a fairly roundabout answer:

“It’s pretty remarkable and exciting. We were teenagers, and then I saw him right immediately afterwards go into this universe.

I never could have fathomed that I would have had any part of that besides just being a fan of his and being really proud of him.

It’s just been really cool that at this moment, I’m joining it, and he’s been able to come back [in 2022’s Obi-Wan Kenobi] and also get embraced by the Star Wars family in a way that I think is much deserved.

It’s definitely one of those things that would be super cool if he was [in Ahsoka], but I’m just really grateful that we’re in the same universe.”

That’s neither a confirmation or denial, though it feels like it leans towards the latter. “Ahsoka” also includes Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Ray Stevenson, Ivanna Sakhno, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and David Tennant.

“Ahsoka” will hit the Disney+ service on August 23rd.
