Adult Swim has announced they plan to revive the acclaimed animated series “Tuca & Bertie” for a second season – ordering a further ten episodes of the adult series following the show’s premiere and subsequent cancellation at Netflix last year.
The series revolves around two birds who are best friends and live the same apartment building. Tiffany Haddish and Ali Wong lead the voice cast which also includes Steven Yuen.
Creator and executive producer Lisa Hanawalt is returning for the new season which Adult Swim has domestic rights to. The first season will remain on Netflix, while the new season is targeting a 2021 launch.
Adult Swim and its library of series like “Rick and Morty,” “Robot Chicken,” and “Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law” is expected to get a boost from the launch next week of HBO Max.
