Addison Rae To Lead Roth’s “Thanksgiving”

Netflix

TikTok star Addison Rae has scored the lead role in director Eli Roth’s slasher “Thanksgiving” at Spyglass Media.

The project is based on the faux trailer that Roth made 16 years ago for “Grindhouse” and shooting begins next month in Toronto.

The film follows a killer in a pilgrim costume who visits a small town in Massachusetts with the hopes of creating a carving board out of the town’s Turkey-loving inhabitants.

The original trailer involved various scenes of decapitation, a giant blade and an unfortunately timed splits on a trampoline, and one scene with someone being turned into a giant stuffed roast turkey and served up.

She joins Patrick Dempsey who will play the sheriff of the town. Roth is directing and producing the project, while Jeff Rendel is writing the screenplay. Roger Birnbaum also produces.

Rae, who confirmed the news with a picture captioned “Let’s eat,” has 88 million followers on TikTok and previously made the jump to film with “He’s All That,” Netflix’s gender-swapped remake of 1999’s teen comedy “She’s All That”.

Roth broke through as a director of gory horror like “Cabin Fever” and “Hostel” before segueing to various other genres. He has the film adaptation of the video game “Borderlands” coming out this year.
