Actress Diane Keaton Has Died

Famed veteran actress, producer and director Diane Keaton has died. The “Annie Hall” and “The Godfather” star was 79.

Keaton passed away in California but no further specifics about her death have been revealed beyond a hospital transporting her from her home this morning.

The Oscar winner won an Oscar for her work on “Woody Allen’s “Annie Hall” and re-teamed with him on several films including “Manhattan,” “Sleeper,” “Love and Death,” “Manhattan Murder Mystery,” “Radio Days” and “Hollywood Mavericks”.

Keaton was also Oscar-nominated for best actress for her work in “Reds,” “Something’s Gotta Give” and “Marvin’s Room”.

She broke out in Coppola’s “The Godfather” and reprised her role in the two sequels. Other notable performances included “Looking for Mr. Goodbar,” “Mrs. Soffel,” “Crimes of the Heart,” “Baby Boom,” “Father of the Bride,” “The First Wives Club” and “The Family Stone”. Her last on screen role was last year’s “Summer Camp”.

She was also a director, helming episodes of “China Beach” and “Twin Peaks,” movies such as “Unstrung Heroes” and “Hanging Up” and music videos including the iconic video for Belinda Carlisle’s 1987 hit “Heaven is a Place on Earth”.

Keaton never married and is survived by her adopted daughter and son.
