Rising actor Jonathan Majors, who starred in major studio releases “Creed III” and “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” earlier this month, was reportedly arrested in New York City on Saturday morning according to TMZ.
The arrest came after police responded to a 911 call inside of an apartment in Chelsea according to a statement from the New York Police Department provided to THR and The Wrap. They tell the trade that a “preliminary investigation determined that a 33-year-old male was involved in a domestic dispute with a 30-year-old female”.
The statement continues saying: “The victim informed police she was assaulted. Officers placed the 33-year-old male into custody without incident. The victim sustained minor injuries to her head and neck and was removed to an area hospital in stable condition.”
The actor was arrested on charges of strangulation, assault and harassment according to the spokesperson. Majors is reportedly no longer in police custody and his relationship with the woman is domestic according to the statement.
A representative for Majors tells the outlet: “He has done nothing wrong. We look forward to clearing his name and clearing this up.”
Majors is one of the most in-demand actors working today, has long-term plans with Marvel Studios to play Kang across numerous films including the upcoming “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty” dated for May 2025, and has Sundance drama “Magazine Dreams” set for release in December which is expected to garner significant awards attention.
Update: Majors’ criminal attorney has issues a statement, saying Majors is “completely innocent” and has plenty of evidence to prove his innocence. Click here for further details.
