“Watchmen” and “Aquaman” star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is in talks to star in the latest Disney+ Marvel Studios series “Wonder Man”.
Andrew Guest (“Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” “Community”) is head writer of the series whilst “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton executive produces and will possibly direct an episode.
In the comics, Simon Williams (aka. Wonder Man) is a founding member of the Los Angeles-based West Coast Avengers and became a celebrity thanks to his day job as an actor and stuntman. The character also developed strong ties to characters Vision and Wanda/Scarlet Witch.
The series also sees Ben Kingsley reprising his “Iron Man 3” and “Shang-Chi” role of struggling actor Trevor Slattery.
