Video Games Deluxe, a Sydney-based game studio working exclusively with Rockstar Games, released word via LinkedIn recently that they are hiring staff to build an “AAA open world title in VR”.
The posting says: “Having finished the critically well received ‘L.A. Noire: The V.R. Case Files’ we are now gearing up for a new project, a AAA open world title in VR for Rockstar. 2020 marks our 7th year of working exclusively for Rockstar in Sydney and we are excited to taking on this ground breaking project.”
Video Games Deluxe worked on both the PC VR and PSVR versions of Rockstar’s “L.A. Noire: The V.R. Case Files” which hit PS4 late last year. It’s not clear the scope of the new project, but it’s likely to be a familiar Rockstar IP as opposed to a new one. This has quickly led to speculation we’ll be seeing “Red Dead Redemption” or “Grand Theft Auto” VR titles in a few years.
