Just one week before its scheduled release, Paramount Pictures is pushing back John Krasinski’s “A Quiet Place Part II” due to the coronavirus pandemic. The film’s global release was pulled earlier today.
Krasinski himself made the announcement on social media, saying that with the outbreak on it wasn’t a good time for people to gather in cinemas to see the horror film and the plan is to wait to release it when people can see it together. No new date has yet been specified.
This marks the second major Spring film to relocate because of the virus after MGM and United Artists delayed the James Bond film “No Time to Die” to November. Earlier this week, Sony decided to delay the release of family film “Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway”.
No cinemas are closed as yet in the U.S. because of the coronavirus, but there’s growing concern it will inevitably happen soon.
