Spyglass Media Group has set up a remake of the 1986 film “Short Circuit,” this one bringing a Latinx twist to the material.
John Badham helmed the original which starred Ally Sheedy, Steve Guttenberg and Fisher Stevens in a family comedy that centered around Number 5, an experimental military robot that is struck by lightning and gains a human-like intelligence.
Eduardo Cisneros and Jason Shuman will pen the new version with James Vanderbilt, Paul Neinstein and William Sherak producing. Spyglass is currently working on the “Scream” revival.
