“A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” Series Trailer

HBO

We’ve seen brief glimpses of footage, and now HBO has released the first official trailer for its “Game of Thrones” spin-off series “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms”.

The series is adapted from George R.R. Martin’s novella “The Hedge Knight”. A century before the events of “Game of Thrones,” two unlikely heroes wandered Westeros… a young, naĂŻve but courageous knight, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his diminutive squire, Egg.

Set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne, and the memory of the last dragon has not yet passed from living memory, great destinies, powerful foes, and dangerous exploits all await these improbable and incomparable friends.

The trailer also confirms the return of House Tyrell with Steve Wall playing celebrated warrior Lord Leo ‘Longthorn’ Tyrell.

The series is expected to be more comedic, softer and more standalone in nature with no visible magic – offering an experience more akin to a story set in period Britain albeit set in Westeros.

“A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” is set to premiere on January 18th.
