Magic Lantern Entertainment and FitzRoy Media are teaming for a live-action version of the classic 970’s comic strip cat character Heathcliff reports Variety.
George Gately’s comic, still penned by his nephew Peter Gallagher, follows an adventurous and fun-loving sarcastic cat who annoys the manager of the fish store, tips over garbage cans, annoys the milkman, and pursues female cats.
The aim is to create a contemporary live-action/CG hybrid similar to the recent “Garfield” and “Alvin and the Chipmunks” film franchises.
