James Cameron and his writing team have been hard at work on the scripts for a new trilogy of films set in the “Avatar” universe. However, there may be more than just a second, third and fourth “Avatar” on the way.
Cameron’s longtime composer James Horner recently spoke with HeyUGuys where he revealed that Cameron’s actually gone beyond the original brief:
“He’s got four sequels script-wise, and he’s trying to make it into three. And I think that’s where the effort is going right now […] how do you keep it from expanding into a fifth movie?”
Earlier this year came word that the films had been pushed back a year so that Cameron could work more on the scripts. The aim was to be finished before mid-year, whether that’s still the case is uncertain.
