We’re still a few months out from the launch of CBS All Access’ “Star Trek: Discovery” which is expected to launch the next part of its marketing campaign at San Diego Comic Con this week.
In the lead up to its panel, the show’s Twitter account has now posted some footage offering a better glimpse of some of the iconic tech that will be employed in the new series including the return of the classic flip communicator and phaser, the latter undergoing some serious changes.
As some have pointed out, the tech evokes that glimpsed on the flashback scene on the USS Kelvin in 2009’s “Star Trek” film reboot than it does the original series, as this is set a decade before Kirk’s time on the Enterprise – that kind of makes sense.
“Star Trek: Discovery” premieres September 24th on CBS All Access in the United States and the following day on Netflix around much of the rest of the world.
