20th Century Fox has acquired a musical movie pitch inspired by the life of Pharrell Williams.
“The Seagull” and “Flicka” director Michael Mayer is attached to helm from a script by Martin Hynes with the story exploring Williams’ childhood in Virginia Beach.
Gil Netter, Williams, and Mimi Valdes are producing. The Grammy-winning singer-record producer recently supervised the music for Best Picture Oscar nominee “Hidden Figures” and has contributed to the “Despicable Me” films.
