“Species” and “Eli Stone” actress Natasha Henstridge has joined the cast of indie drama “Anytown” says The Hollywood Reporter.
Henstridge will play a news anchor covering an attack on an Indian-American boy by two fellow high school students who videotape the crime.
The event forces her to examine the media’s post-Sept. 11 role in fueling hate crimes committed by youth. Matt O’Leary, Marshall Allman, Jonathan Halyalkar and Paul Ben-Victor also star.
Dave Rodriguez (“Push”) is producing, directing and co-wrote the script with Zak Meyers. The film is currently shooting in Los Angeles after a stint in Louisiana.
