Steven Spielberg is set to produce a film about fictional secret agent Matt Helm as an upcoming project reports Variety.
Novelist Donald Hamilton created the character who starred in a series of 27 novels about a government agent whose mission is to take down enemy agents.
Spielberg, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are set to produce. Paul Attanasio delivered a rewrite last week which reportedly renewed Spielberg’s interest in the project.
Paramount Pictures retained rights to the project which was developed by DreamWorks, which means Spielberg is unlikely to direct.
