Paul Feig, co-creator of “Freaks and Geeks” and a key director on shows like “The Office” and “Arrested Development”, is set to helm a wedding-themed comedy starring SNL cast member Kristen Wiig for Universal Pictures says Yahoo News.
Wiig (“MacGruber,” “Date Night”) and Annie Mumolo co-wrote the script about women with competing plans for a friend’s wedding party. Judd Apatow and Barry Mendel will produce.
The project drew attention a few weeks ago when “Flight of the Conchords” co-creator James Bobin was considering it but opted instead to helm the Muppets movie at Disney Pictures.
