Summit Entertainment has hired Evan Daugherty (“Snow White and the Huntsman,” “Shrapnel”) to adapt Veronica Roth’s young adult dystopian thriller “Divergent” says The Hollywood Reporter.
Set in a future Chicago which has become a dystopian society divided into five factions with each pursuing a different virtue – honesty, selflessness, braveness, peace and intelligence.
Once a year, sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. It’s then a teenage boy and girl set out to rebel against the system and discover a growing conflict that threatens to unravel her seemingly perfect society.
