Melissa Leo is in negotiations to join Denzel Washington in the Antoine Fuqua’s big screen “The Equalizer” reboot at Sony Pictures.
Washington plays Robert McCall, a retired covert operative who becomes a for hire “fixer” for anyone who needs it.
Leo will play McCall’s former counter-terrorism handler who provides him with intelligence about who he is facing when he runs up against a new adversary.
Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch will produce. Shooting begins mid-June in Boston.
