Rene Russo (“Thor,” “Nightcrawler”) is in negotiations to join Morgan Freeman and Tommy Lee Jones in Ron Shelton’s action comedy “Villa Capri” for Broad Green Pictures.
The “Midnight Run”-esque story follows an ex-FBI agent (Jones) and an attorney who is in the witness protection program (Freeman) who have to put aside their petty differences to fend off a mob hit.
Shelton (“Tin Cup”) also penned the script while Billy Gerber and Steve Richards are producing. Locations are currently being scouted in New Mexico, and the film will score a release on August 25th 2017.
