Jussie Smollett (“Empire”), Amy Seimetz (“Upstream Color”), Carmen Ejogo (“Selma”) and Callie Hernandez (“Machete Kills”) have all signed on to star in Ridley Scott’s “Alien: Covenant” which begins shooting in Australia next month.
The second of three planned films that act as a prequel trilogy to Scott’s “Alien,” the story follows the crew of the colony ship Covenant bound for a remote planet that is thought to be an uncharted paradise.
They soon learn it is a dark and desolate world whose sole inhabitant is the only survivor of the Prometheus expedition – the synthetic ‘David’ (Michael Fassbender).
Katherine Waterston, Demian Bichir and Danny McBride also star in the project which is currently targeting an October 2017 release.
