DC Studios Co-CEO James Gunn has confirmed that he’s writing his next film to come after next year’s “Superman” follow-up “Man of Tomorrow”.
With Paramount’s acquisition of Warner Bros. expected to close this week, those remaining at the company are already getting back to work as the uncertainty over what comes next gives way.
With Gunn and Peter Safran staying on at DC Studios, the pair are proceeding with what comes next, and Gunn wrapped filming on “Man of Tomorrow” in August.
Asked by a fan on Threads about his post-“Man of Tomorrow” slate, he revealed he’s “already in it” when it comes to writing his next film, adding that “I had to do something while I was waiting for the assembly”. He subsequently confirmed the assembly cut is already complete.
Gunn also took the opportunity to shoot down a piece of fan-made poster art that Frank Grillo recirculated, one which features Adria Arjona as Wonder Woman. Gunn says:
“It’s Frank reposting somebody because it has his photo in it and he loves himself. I can assure you Frank doesn’t know who Adria is playing in the DCU and whether or not she has any sort of incredibly small cameo in MoT or not. People have been making wayyyyyyyyyyy too much of this.”
Gunn also shot down a rumor that Jensen Ackles would play the DCU’s Batman, saying: “I met him once 20 years ago when he was dating a friend of mine. Nice guy. We haven’t cast him as anything yet.”
“Man of Tomorrow” is slated to open next Summer.
