HBO Max has premiered the 30-second trailer for the final episode of its “Lanterns,” which is set to air next week on Sunday, October 4th.
Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof and Tom King penned the episode titled “Dirt and Stars,” the eighth overall in the season that began back on August 16th.
The penultimate episode just aired and saw Hal talking about his family ‘legacy’ and a history of depression in his family. It also took us off-world to Antaan’s planet, where some major discoveries took place.
The series has seen a rise in viewership with the third episode pulling in 525 million minutes for the week of September 7th-13th and ranking eighth on Nielsen’s Top 10 streaming (acquired) charts – easily the top series on that list.
While the series remains a critically strong performer, its audience scores have been less stable as a backlash to the third episode saw accusations of review bombing. At present, that score sits at just 72% on Rotten Tomatoes.
The series closes out this chapter of the DCU ahead of “Clayface” opening in cinemas in October along with “Man of Tomorrow” arriving next Summer.
