Insomniac Games is reportedly still developing their “Marvel’s Spider-Man” spin-off game “Venom”.
The update comes from longtime game scooper NateTheHate2 who posted that the title was “very much still in development upon last check”.
The title was first revealed back in 2023 when the hack of Insomniac showed an internal roadmap of titles in the works with “Venom” originally slated to arrive before “Marvel’s Spider-Man 3”.
Then talk of the project’s cancellation arose in 2024 in the wake of the passing of actor Tony Todd, who voiced the character in “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2”. Todd previously indicated that they used only about 10% of what he recorded.
Actor Nadji Jeter, who voices Miles Morales in the games, suggested earlier this year that the standalone game was dead. Game industry journalist Jason Schreier said that “was not true”.
In “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2,” the symbiote is with Harry Osborn, who becomes Venom. The solo game is rumoured to be shifting more towards introducing traditional Venom host Eddie Brock.
