PlayStation has confirmed that its next State of Play broadcast will take place later this week on Thursday, September 3rd, starting at 6am US-PT. A State of Play Japan will follow immediately after.
The event will feature “updates and announcements from PlayStation Studios and our third-party partners” along with an extended look at “Final Fantasy VII Revelation”.
The news comes as the PlayStation ‘blackout’, to protest the company’s ditching of physical media, is reportedly continuing indefinitely. It’s currently unclear how effective the boycott campaign has been since it launched on August 23rd. [Source: Sony]
Pokemon: Wild Card
A teaser has been released for “Pokémon: Wild Card,” the first new Pokémon movie in seven years. The story follows a Pokémon trading-card game player who is battling and striving to be a champion.
The project was revealed during the closing ceremony of the 2026 Pokémon World Championships, which took place in San Francisco. The film is tipped to be releasing in 2027 with Katsuhiko Kitada directing.
Intergalactic
Developer Naughty Dog’s new sci-fi game “Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet: has finished filming cinematics. The company announced it online with a photo of Tati Gabrielle in a mocap costume for her role as bounty hunter Jordan Munn.
In the game, she’s stranded on planet Sempiria chasing a crime syndicate. No release date for the title has yet been set, but it has been in development since 2020.

Heart of the Beast
Paramount has released a new 60-second TV spot and a featurette for David Ayer’s survival thriller “Heart of the Beast” starring Brad Pitt. The title is slated to open on September 25th.
After a harrowing plane crash, Special Forces officer James Belmont (Brad Pitt) and his combat dog, Odin, find themselves stranded deep in the Alaskan wilderness. Together, they are forced into a brutal fight for survival against the elements.
