Only Murders in the Building
The upcoming sixth season of Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building” has locked in a December 8th premiere date with the first photos now up at Vulture of Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez on their trip to London.
A whole bunch of British TV alums co-star this season including Simone Ashley, Richard Ayoade, Jim Broadbent, Peter Capaldi, Olivia Colman, Nicola Coughlan, Martin Freeman, Sharon Horgan, Jennifer Saunders, David Tennant, and Jodie Whittaker.
Sleepover
“Insidious: Out of the Further” director Jacob Chase is set to direct “Sleepover” for Blumhouse Atomic Monster and Universal Pictures. The film has already locked down an October 8th 2027 release. Chase co-wrote the script with “Night Swim” filmmaker Bryce McGuire who came up with the original story which is dubbed a “quintessential sleepover nightmare”. [Source: THR]
Not Suitable for Work
Hulu has cancelled the Mindy Kaling-created comedy series “Not Suitable for Work” that premiered in June and ran for nine episodes. Warner Bros. Television plans to shop the show around for a potential new home.
The series follows five work-obsessed 20-somethings striving for professional success and, if they have time, personal happiness in Manhattan’s Murray Hill neighbourhood. [Source: TV Line]
Clap If You Care
Peacock has given the green light to a three-part documentary titled “Clap If You Care: The Wendy Williams Show” to premiere next year. The film will deal with the rise and fall of the syndicated daytime talk show that ran from 2008-2022.
Peacock says the doco “sheds light on the complicated truths about the cost of fame and answers long-lingering questions surrounding [Williams‘] infamous exit from her own show.” More than 20 staffers from the talk show speak about their time on the program. [Source: THR]
