“Project Hail Mary” filmmakers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are set to produce a feature adaptation of Forrest Brazeal’s forthcoming debut novel “Paradox Inc.” at Universal Pictures.
The story deals with the rivalry between a scrappy startup and a dysfunctional Big Tech company racing to build the world’s first consumer time machine.
The prize: control of reality itself. Maybe… The tech industry’s version of time travel doesn’t seem to work quite the way you’d expect.
Daniel Roher (“Tuner,” “Navalny”) will direct from a script by Matthew Robinson (“Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die,” “The Last House”) with both co-writing the treatment for the film. Lucy Kitada and Aditya Sood will also produce.
Brazeal worked at Google during the AI and crypto craze and has a popular YouTube video channel skewering the tech industry.
Lord & Miller are currently at work producing “Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse” opening next year, and recently produced the “Spider-Noir” series for Amazon. They are also producing an upcoming “Murder She Wrote” film reboot and a live-action “Archie” movie.
