After so much speculation, Marvel Studios and Disney have officially unveiled the first core members of the “X-Men” cast for the upcoming solo film.
The roster includes: Christopher Abbott as Professor X, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Maya Boyd as Storm, Indie Navarette as Rogue, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost and Adam Driver as the film’s villain Nathaniel Milbury/Mr. Sinister.
While many of these names already leaked, these are now official and should get the fanbase excited. More in question is some of the obvious missing characters from the list including Wolverine, Magneto, Mystique, Beast, Iceman, Gambit and more.
Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige has previously expressed how the series is essentially going younger for the MCU faces of these characters, and these castings would fit those plans. Aboott & Driver are the oldest at 40 and 42 respectively.
Sonny Lee Sung Jin (“Beef”) and Joanna Calo (“The Bear”) recently came aboard to write a new draft of Michael Lesslie’s script. Jake Schreier directs the film which is slated to begin filming early next year.
The new “X-Men” will release in cinemas on May 5th 2028.
