AMC has confirmed that its highly acclaimed “Interview With the Vampire” series has been renewed for a fourth season.
Announced during the Comic-Con Hall H presentation of the show, which just ended its third season run last week, the series will again undergo a title change to reflect the shift of source material.
Whereas the first two seasons were based on the first novel, the third season was based on the second novel “The Vampire Lestat”. This fourth season will be based on the third novel, “Queen of the Damned,” and so will go by that title.
The new season will focus heavily on the original vampire Akasha, portrayed by Sheila Atim who made her debut in “The Vampire Lestat” season.
Cast members Jacob Anderson, Assad Zaman, Eric Bogosian and Sheila Atim were all on hand for the show’s Comic-Con Hall H presentation along with executive producers Mark Johnson and Hannah Moscovitch.
One key change, however, is happening behind the scenes – Moscovitch will take the showrunner reins from Rolin Jones, who steered the series through its first three seasons.
Jones and Johnson remain onboard as executive producers.
