Apple, Skydance and Mattel Studios have released a one-sheet for the live-action film adaptation of Mattel’s toy car line “Matchbox”.
The poster comes ahead of the film’s teaser trailer, which launches as part of Apple TV’s Comic-Con panel at Hall H at 2pm on Saturday.
Actors John Cena, Jessica Biel, Arturo Castro, Sam Richardson and Teyonah Parris, who all star in the film, will be on hand for the panel.
Inspired by the Mattel toys, the Skydance co-production follows a group of friends since childhood who have their lives upended when undercover CIA agent Sean (Cena), their long-absent former leader, returns to their small town and unwittingly gets them embroiled in a frantic international pursuit to save the world.
Corey Stoll, Bill Camp, Danai Gurira, and Golshifteh Faranhani co-star in the film which “Extraction” helmer Sam Hargrave directs from a script by David Coggeshall. David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, Robbie Brenner, Jules Daly and Ynon Kreiz produce.
“Matchbox: The Movie” is set to premiere directly on Apple TV on October 9th.
