Ted Lasso
Apple TV head of programming Matt Cherniss has given a brief update on a potential fifth season of “Ted Lasso” after the upcoming fourth season arrives on August 5th. No official renewal has been handed out as yet, but some work is already underway.
Cherniss has confirmed that star and co-creator Jason Sudeikis already has plans to begin work on the next season: “Jason’s still hard at work on season four, and I know he’s looking to jump into the next season soon, but to my knowledge, I don’t think we’ve gotten started on it yet.” [Source: Deadline]
The Secret of Secrets
Carlton Cuse is the co-creator of the upcoming Netflix eight-episode TV series adaptation of Dan Brown’s latest Robert Langdon novel “The Secret of Secrets”. He confirms to Screen Rant that the producing team is preparing to announce who has been cast to as Langdon.
Whomever it is will follow in the footsteps of Tom Hanks across three films and Ashley Zukerman in Peacock’s 2021 series “The Lost Symbol”. The new series follows Langdon in Prague as he searches for his girlfriend, Katherine Solomon, after she mysteriously disappears.
Sterling Point
Amazon Prime Video has revealed the trailer for Megan Park‘s upcoming coming-of-age series “Sterling Point”, which premieres August 5th. The series is led by 17-year-old Annie Jacobson (Ella Rubin) who inherits her mysterious grandfather’s island in Canada. There, she finds new friends, budding romances and untold family secrets.
The Gentlemen
Following on from “MobLand” setting its return, filmmaker Guy Ritchie’s other recent crime TV series has also locked in a second season premiere for the Theo James-led “The Gentlemen” to return on Netflix on September 3rd.
The new season picks up one year after Eddie and Susie joined forces inside Bobby’s overseas criminal empire. As the pair look to expand the operation, Bobby’s decision-making grows increasingly reckless, forcing Eddie and Susie to decide whether to intervene or risk watching everything collapse.
