Norihiro Naganuma, the acclaimed director of the celebrated “The Apothecary Diaries” anime, has announced a new original work in the same genre that serves as a mashup of ninjas and dinosaurs.
Titled “Jurassic Shadows,” the project is an action series built on a rather wild concept – it seems dinosaurs secretly survived their extinction by passing their DNA into humanity through interbreeding.
Hidden among ordinary people, they now prey upon humans while living unnoticed within society and are campaigning to wipe out humankind.
Standing against them is a covert order of ninjas who wield Ryugesho, a special pigment infused with ancient memories.
By applying this mysterious pigment, they awaken the powers of dinosaurs within themselves and fight back against the predators threatening humanity.
Many key staff from “The Apothecary Diaries” will follow Naganuma over to this project penned by Kenta Ihara (“Saga of Tanya the Evil”). cannoncode is handling the animation.
