An August 6th 2027 release date has been set for the big-budget action comedy “Jason Statham Stole My Bike”.

The real Jason Statham stars as global action superstar Jason Statham in the film, which is being directed by “Bullet Train” and “The Fall Guy” director David Leitch. Filming on the project wraps this week.

Story details are under wraps, though from all indications, a meta-comedy angle will be used. A number of major action set pieces are in place for the PG-13 project, which reportedly boasts a budget of over $80 million.

Alison Flierl (“BoJack Horseman,” “School of Rock”) penned the script based on a story by herself and Scott Chernoff. Leitch and Statham previously worked together on “Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw”.

Husband and wife duo Leitch and wife Kelly McCormick are producing through their 87 North banner. Statham, John Friedberg, Meredith Berg and Ethan Erwin also produce.

Statham also recently shot both Guy Ritchie’s “Viva La Madness” and a sequel to “The Beekeeper,” both films due out next year. He most recently starred in “Mutiny” and “Shelter”.
