New “Marvel’s Wolverine” Gameplay Trailer

Insomniac Games

Revealed as part of Sony PlayStation’s State of Play this afternoon, around seven minutes of gameplay from Insomniac Games’ “Marvel’s Wolverine” has been released ahead of the game’s launch on PS5 on September 15th.

In the trailer, Logan is tailing a group of mutants that have been hunted and captured by the Reavers, a guns-for-hire cybernetic militia capturing and delivering mutants to human supremacist and billionaire industrialist Bolivar Trask.

Mutants live in the shadows fearful of those hunting them, while the rest of society lives unaware of their existence. The only ones potentially capable of protecting their own is Team X, a last-stand mutant task force facing its darkest hour, which Logan rejoins after leaving three years prior.

The likes of Jean Grey, Mystique and Sabretooth are also seen in the footage.
Shown during a State of Play on Tuesday, the footage features other X-Men characters, including Mystique and Sabretooth.

The title, PlayStation‘s biggest first-party game currently planned for 2026, has a lot of environmental destruction and switches from the vast New York open world of the “Marvel’s Spider-Man” games to condensed open zones across several levels.

Former “Spartacus” series alum Liam McIntyre takes on the role of the adamantium-clawed mutant in “Marvel’s Wolverine” which will release for PlayStation 5 on September 15th.
