Following its rapturous reception at Cannes, the new trailer has been released for “I Saw the TV Glow” filmmaker Jane Schoenbrun’s new horror film “Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma”.
Gillian Anderson and “Hacks” actress Hannah Einbinder lead the cast which also includes Amanda Fix, Arthur Conti, Eva Victor, Zach Cherry, Sarah Sherman, Patrick Fischler, Dylan Baker, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Quintessa Swindell, Kevin McDonald, and Jack Haven as ‘Little Death’.
After years of slapdash sequels and waning fandom, the Camp Miasma slasher franchise is handed over to an enthusiastic young director for resurrection.
But when she visits the original movie’s star, a now-reclusive actress shrouded in mystery, the two women fall into a blood-soaked world of desire, fear, and delirium.
The project has been described as a mix of Céline Sciamma’s period lesbian romance drama “Portrait of a Lady on Fire” and the setting of a “Friday the 13th” sequel, and it aims to be a “sleepover classic”.
With 46 reviews counted, the film is sitting at an astonishing 100% on Rotten Tomatoes from 46 reviews.
MUBI will release “Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma” in cinemas on August 7th.
