After a decade away, famed Oscar-winning filmmaker Kenneth Lonergan is returning to directing.
Announced at the Cannes market, the film is titled “Tomorrow Is a Drag” and marks Lonergan’s first directorial effort since the double Oscar-winning “Manchester by the Sea” back in 2016.
Aubrey Plaza, Adam Driver, Vanessa Kirby and Matthew Broderick will reportedly star in the film, with story details being kept under tight wraps.
The tone is expected to be along the lines of the humour meets touching character drama of his previous efforts like “Margaret” and “You Can Count on Me”.
Sara Murphy (“One Battle After Another”) will produce the project which is scheduled to begin production this fall in New York.
Broderick has worked with Lonergan twice before while Driver teamed with him on the Off-Broadway play “Hold On to Me Darling”.
