Beloved “Scream” and “Five Nights at Freddy’s” actor Matthew Lillard has joined the cast of the Superman sequel “Man of Tomorrow” at DC Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures.
Specifics of who Lillard will play are under wraps. Lillard previously worked with the film’s writer/director/producer James Gunn on the “Scooby Doo” films in the early 2000s – both of which Gunn wrote and which Lillard starred in as Shaggy
David Corenswet returns as Superman alongside Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Lars Eidinger as Brainiac.
There’s also Superman returnees, including Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane), Skyler Gisondo (Jimmy Olsen), Sara Sampaio (Eve Teschmacher), Isabela Merced (Hawkgirl), Nathan Fillion (Guy Gardner) and Edi Gathegi (Mister Terrific) among others.
Also onboard is Aaron Pierre as John Stewart and Adria Arjona in a mystery role that may be Maxima or Wonder Woman.
Lillard was most recently seen in “Scream 7,” “Cross” Season 2 and “Daredevil: Born Again” Season 2. He’ll next be seen in Mike Flanagan’s “Carrie” series remake for A24.
“Man of Tomorrow” opens in cinemas on July 9th 2027.
