The first trailer has been released for “Weapons” filmmaker Zach Cregger’s new “Resident Evil” film adaptation.
The project tells an original story unrelated to the previous films and inspired by the early video games of the series.

In recent interviews, Cregger has hinted he’s going for an “Evil Dead II” style vibe with wild, inventive filmmaking combined with horror and dark humour touches.
Robert Kulzer, Roy Lee, Miri Yoon, Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan produce the film, which opens September 18th.
