A24 has revealed the full cast line-up for its biggest feature film to date – the screen adaptation of FromSoftware’s 2022 Game of the Year dark fantasy RPG title “Elden Ring”.
As previously announced, Kit Connor, Ben Whishaw and Cailee Spaeny lead the cast, while Nick Offerman is also involved.
Today comes the news that Tom Burke, Havana Rose Liu, Sonoya Mizuno, Jonathan Pryce, Ruby Cruz, John Hodgkinson, Jefferson Hall, Emma Laird and Peter Serafinowicz will join them.
Based on a mythological story written by “Game of Thrones” author George R. R. Martin and developed by FromSoftware’s Hidetaka Miyazaki, the story takes place in a mythical realm known as the Lands Between.
It revolves around the Elden Ring – a powerful artifact that has been shattered, plunging the Lands Between into war and chaos. The title has sold more than 30 million copies worldwide.
Alex Garland, who wrote and directed “Ex Machina” and “Civil War,” wrote the script and is directing the production, which begins filming this week in the U.K.
The project is said to boast a budget well over $100 million and will involve around 100 days of principal photography. In addition, A24 has set a March 3rd 2028 theatrical release date for the film.
