Paramount Teases Sonic 4, WWZ2, Duty & More

It was Paramount Pictures’ turn at CinemaCon this morning, with studio chief David Ellison promising movie theatre owners they will make a minimum of 30 movies annually when Paramount and Warner Bros merge.

In addition, he confirmed a “minimum 45-day window, starting today,” while SVOD releases will be set at 90 days.

He also confirmed “World War Z,” “Top Gun,” “G.I. Joe” and “Transformers” are all getting new entries, with all in development.

The “Call of Duty” film has been set for a June 30th 2028 release. Peter Berg is set to direct the film with a script co-written by Taylor Sheridan.

The fifth “Jackass” film has scored a title: “Jackass: Best and Last”. One scene showed Steve-O getting a robot finger prostate exam. It opens in cinemas June 26th.

Both Shredder and Krang will appear in the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem” sequel according to Seth Rogen who was on hand at the event.

David Ayer’s survival thriller “Heart of the Beast” is confirmed for release later this year and follows Brad Pitt as a former Special Forces officer who teams up with his retired combat dog to fight for survival after their plane crashes in the Alaskan wilderness.

Finally, “Sonic the Hedgehog 4” showed off brief footage as its still in production, but did reveal Jim Carrey returning as the villainous Dr. Robotnik and teaming up with Sonic to stop a greater threat.
