Quick News: Robot, Majors, Doe, White

Bad Robot

Bad Robot
J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot is reportedly shutting its Los Angeles office and shifting operations to New York. The transition follows the sale of their longtime Santa Monica headquarters in November and continues a company downsizing that has been underway for a while now.

Warner Brothers famously gave Abrams a $250 million overall agreement with little in the way of resulting from it beyond a few titles like HBO’s quickly cancelled “Duster” and the upcoming “The End of Oak Street” film. Its biggest success in recent years was Apple’s “Presumed Innocent” series. [Source: THR]

Untitled Jonathan Majors Film
Actor Jonathan Majors reportedly fell through a window on the set of an untitled action feature in the works from Daily Wire reports Deadline. The trade reportedly reached out for comment about alleged unsafe conditions on the set, the producers saying they “don’t negotiate with communists”.

Doe
Scott ‘Kid Cudi’ Mescudi has reportedly begun production in Los Angeles on his directorial debut “Doe”. Mescudi, Mark Webber, Leah McNamara, Brandon Scott and Brandon Perea co-star.

The story explores themes of addiction and survival through the lens of a man living on the streets of Hollywood who, over the course of 24 hours, drifts through a series of encounters that pull him in and out of the cycles of his compulsion. Cudi will also do original songs for the piece. [Source: Deadline]
