“Spaceballs 2” Set For April 2027 Release

Amazon MGM Studios has just officially set an April 23rd 2027 release date for the much-anticipated “Spaceballs” sequel. Filming took place in Sydney, Australia in the latter part of last year, wrapping in December.

Rick Moranis, Bill Pullman, Daphne Zuniga, George Wyner, and Mel Brooks return from the original which released almost forty years ago now. Brooks was 99 when he filmed scenes for the film.

Additionally, Lewis Pullman, Keke Palmer Josh Gad and Anthony Carrigan join in the fun this time out.

The project is dubbed ‘A Non-Prequel Non-Reboot Sequel Part Two but with Reboot Elements Franchise Expansion Film’ though plot details are under wraps.

A report from Jeff Sneider adds that the sequel might be called “Spaceballs: The New One”.

Josh Greenbaum (“Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar,” “Will & Harper”) is directing from a script by Josh Gad, Benji Samit, and Dan Hernandez.
