Luigi’s Mansion
Charlie Day, who voices Luigi in Nintendo & Illumination’s “Super Mario Bros. Movie” franchise, says he “would be thrilled to do Luigi’s Mansion” as a movie, adding “if they do it, I’m in… it’s such a fun game.”
Meanwhile game designing legend Shigeru Miyamoto has challenged fans to spot every character in “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie” saying: “It’s the 40th anniversary of the Super Mario series. A multitude of characters from the history of the series will appear one after another. Try to count them if you can.” [Source: Screen Rant]
Animal Friends
The adult-targeted live-action-animated hybrid film “Animal Friends,” a road-trip adventure starring Ryan Reynolds as Pony and Jason Momoa as Bear, has been delayed by six months, from June 5th to January 22nd 2027.
Pony is a tiny narcissist, while the larger Bear is conflict-averse. The pair head out on an adventure across America to find the ranch they once lived on while being pursued by an equally odd couple DEA agent (Aubrey Plaza) and Fish & Wildlife ranger (Dan Levy). Addison Rae, Lil Rey Howery and Ellie Bamber also star. [Source: Variety]
Maul – Shadow Lord
David Collins, an Emmy-winning sound designer/mixer at Skywalker Sound, has confirmed that the upcoming “Maul – Shadow Lord” series will include a bunch of “sound and visual” easter eggs for fans of the “Star Wars: The Force Unleashed” games. Sam Witwer, who voices Maul, starred as Starkiller in the Force Unleashed titles. [Source: X]
The Ghost in the Shell
A new teaser trailer is out for “The Ghost in the Shell,” a new anime TV series take on the legendary 1989–91 manga of the same name by Shirow Masamune which previously was adapted into the celebrated 1995 anime feature.
Science Saru is producing the new take which premieres in July in Japan. Amazon Prime Video will stream the series worldwide (bar Russia and China). The series follows the aggressive unit “Shell Squad”, led by the full-body cyborg Motoko Kusanagi, with the aim of the show to be accurate to the original manga.
