Actress Kim Novak has told The Times of London she would have “never approved” the upcoming feature “Scandalous” at Miramax.

The drama feature, first revealed in late 2024, takes place in 1957 and will star Sydney Sweeney as famed “Vertigo” actress Novak alongside David Jonsson (“The Long Walk,” “Alien Romulus”) as singer/dancer/actor and original Rat Pack member Sammy Davis Jr.

The pair met at the peak of their star power when they were guests on “The Steve Allen Show” and fell hard for each other, but as rumours spread about their covert affair, racism threatened to derail their careers. Nine days after a detailed account of their relationship was published, Davis married a chorus girl named Loray White.

The real Novak is unhappy with Sweeney playing her, saying the actress “sticks out so much above the waist.”

She’s also concerned the film will focus too much on the sexual dynamic between her and Davis, something that she says doesn’t reflect reality, as their romance was more because they had “so much in common”.

She adds that: “There’s no way it wouldn’t be a sexual relationship because Sydney Sweeney looks sexy all the time. She was totally wrong to play me.”

Colman Domingo is directing the project, which was originally intended to shoot after the third season of “Euphoria” wrapped.
